Penalty order issued against Ullrich

The Frankfurt district court announced this on Wednesday in response to a SID request, without naming Jan Ullrich. The statement states: “The 45-year-old defendant is accused of physically attacking and injuring a 10-year-old escort lady from the Congo in a room of a luxury hotel in Frankfurt in the morning hours of August 2018, 31.”

According to the district court, since the “former professional cyclist” was under the influence of alcohol and drugs when he committed the crime, “his ability to act according to the existing injustice was significantly reduced.” The 1997 Tour de France winner was originally investigated for attempted murder. According to the public prosecutor's office, the violence can only be legally classified as simple bodily harm because the 31-year-old was not in potentially life-threatening danger.

The convicted man initially insulted the injured party and asked her to repay the 600 euros she had paid in advance for her services. “As the injured party fled to a corner of the hotel room, the defendant grabbed her neck with one hand and pushed her back against a wall. He then choked her with both hands and struck her in the arm with his fist,” the press release said.

Jan Ullrich returned from Mallorca at the beginning of August 2018 to start therapy in Germany. He was then temporarily arrested in Frankfurt on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to a prostitute. A few days earlier, he had been temporarily arrested on the Spanish holiday island after an incident on his neighbor Til Schweiger's property.

Penalty order issued against Ullrich

The Frankfurt district court has issued a penalty order of 7200 euros against former cycling star Jan Ullrich. Ullrich was asked to pay 180 daily rates of 40 euros each on suspicion of bodily harm and attempted coercion.
