Turf weekend in Merano

Saturday, July 28th offers a mixed program of 3 obstacle and 3 flat tests. On Sunday the professional jockeys will be in action on the flat track in 5 races for the first time.

The current best Italian professional jockeys are taking part. Luca Maniezzi, Fabio Branca, Dario Vargiu and Pier Antonio Covertino are just some of the big names who will be fighting for victories on Sunday. The focus of the flat races on Sunday is the Kurtatsch Prize for 4-year-old and older horses. The test is worth 16.500 euros and covers a distance of 1.600 meters. 10 thoroughbreds from the Czech Republic, Germany and Italy take part in the race. In total, the 7 races see 63 horses from 4 nations at the start.

The racecourse area and restaurant open on Saturday at 15.00 p.m., while on Sunday they open at 14.30:16.15 p.m. The start times are set at 15.30:XNUMX p.m. and XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.

Main race on Sunday 10 horses from 3 nations compete for victory in the mile test for the Kurtatsch prize. The German trainer Ralph Rohne sends Fortissimo (F. Branco) to the start for the Krapagueza stable. The gelding was recently able to convince with a 3rd place in a Group III race.

The Czech trainer Ludovik Haris presents 2 candidates for top places with Lagaro (P. Covertino) and the track newcomer Hidden Flame. The Italian champion trainer Alduino Botti also saddles 2 horses. Stable jockey Dario Vargiu will climb into the saddle of Cream Up, while Ivan Rossi will take part in the race with Captain Cirdan. A specialist in such tests is Torna A Surriento, ridden by Federico Bossa. The field is completed by outsiders Chill Gioffry (G. Lamberti), Dzumandi (W. Gambarota), Groor (M. Sannna) and Yakima (A.
