AHC Siebeneich wins VSS initiative

For the 21st time, the Association of Sports Clubs of South Tyrol (VSS) honored clubs with exemplary youth work on September 17, 2021. The AHC Siebeneich was presented with the winner's check for 5000 euros from the South Tyrolean Raiffeisenkassen. The goal of the ice hockey club from Siebeneich is to convey the joy of ice hockey to as many children as possible. They achieve this with a family-friendly pricing policy and their philosophy of “having fun with sport and not having to win”. The expert jury was particularly impressed by the club's great commitment to enabling the children to practice the sport. The AHC Siebeneich offers numerous different offers, such as hockey taster courses or ice skating courses for children. The training focuses on fair play, team spirit and cohesion. Ice hockey as an elective In collaboration with the Terlan school district, ice hockey is also offered as an elective subject at schools. The AHC Siebeneich also attaches great importance to the community within the club. This is strengthened with various events, such as parent-child games and joint excursions. The jury is sure that the AHC Siebeneich truly deserves the prize for its exemplary youth work. “For me, the award ceremony for this initiative is one of the highlights of the VSS year because youth work is a priority for the VSS. Our goal should be to convey the joy of sport to as many young people as possible,” explained VSS chairman Günther Andergassen. In total, the Raiffeisen Association and the Raiffeisenkassen provided 9000 euros for the VSS initiative. In addition to the sponsorship prize, two sponsorship prizes worth 2000 euros each were awarded. “All the clubs that received awards today do great work that goes beyond sport, so it is a great pleasure for us to support this competition,” said the chairman of the Raiffeisen Association Herbert Von Leon. The ASV Swimming Club Brixen and the skateboard section of the SSV Bruneck were delighted to receive the sponsorship prizes. The Brixen swimming and triathlon club impressed with its motto “Enjoy sport – for a lifetime” and with numerous projects. The skaters from Pustertal impressed with their commitment to youth participation. The coaches of the year were also honored.
