It starts on Thursday at 16 p.m. with the exhibition opening by Aldo Drudi. The artist has been designing the helmets of several motorcycle world champions for 40 years, including Valentino Rossi. Anyone who is still active in sports will also get their money's worth: from Friday to Sunday, national coach Davide Cassani, Olympic champion Stefano Baldini, mountain bike Olympic medalist Marco Aurelio Fontana and world champions Maurizio Fondriest and Letizia Paternoster will lead a guided bike tour of almost 18 kilometers through Trent. A special treat for motorsport fans is the panel discussion “The Fascination of Formula 1” with Ross Brawn (ex-chief strategist for Michael Schumacher, now head of Formula 1 at Liberty Media), Jean Alesi (201 GP starts), followed by Ducati -General Director Gigi Dall'Igna and factory driver Michele Pirro about MotoGP. On Saturday it will be the turn of nine-time motocross world champion Tony Cairoli, and on Sunday it will be the turn of Ferrari team boss Maurizio Arrivabene and motorcycle legend Max Biaggi.

For winter sports fans, the history of the “Azzurri” downhill skiers will be traced on Friday evening, from Zeno Colò (gold medal in 1950 and 1952) to the present day. Sitting on the podium are the downhill aces Peter Fill (winner of the 2016 and 2017 Downhill World Cup) and Christof Innerhofer (2014 Olympic silver and 2011 World Cup bronze in the downhill). On Saturday, Dietmar Nöckler, Dominik Windisch, Dorothea Wierer and others will set the time in skirolling on a course; anyone who wants can try to beat these times. From 14.30 p.m., 29 winter sports enthusiasts will be presented with their new Audi on Dante Square.

A highlight for football fans is Sunday afternoon: the top coaches Arrigo Sacchi (ex-national coach, Milan, Real Madrid), Carlo Ancelotti (SSC Napoli) and Pep Guardiola (ex-Barcelona, Bayern Munich and now Manchester City) chat about their inner workings .

The starting signal for the Festival of Sports will be given in Trento on Thursday. There are 129 events on the program in 15 locations until Sunday, with more than 150 top athletes and sports experts taking part. Admission to the events is free.
