Bolzano in floorball fever

The floorball department of SSV Bozen organized an international tournament back in 2017. The men's national teams from Austria, Slovenia, Hungary and Italy were guests at the time.

Due to the positive feedback from the teams, the officials of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) and the referees, SSV Bozen was asked to also play the qualifying games for the U19 World Championship. The U19 men from the six national teams from Germany, Hungary, Austria, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Italy will be guests in Bolzano from Wednesday to Sunday. Only one of these teams will qualify for the U19 World Championships in May 2019 in Halifax, Canada.

A total of 15 games will be played during the five-day qualifiers. For the Italian team – with the Bolzano athletes Gabriel Obexer and Vincent Manzardo – it will be very difficult to get their only World Cup ticket. Nevertheless, coach Marco Concli is confident: “The preparation was very good and the team has made great progress.”

Around 150 athletes and officials will be staying in Bolzano during the qualifying rounds. In addition, 15 representatives from the international and national floorball association will be present.

All games will be played in the “Palaresia” on Reschenstrasse. Admission is free.

Bolzano in floorball fever

The U19 athletes of the Italian national team will fight for a ticket to the 2019 World Cup in Canada starting Wednesday in Bolzano.
