Bolzano fistball players storm to the top of the table

The Bolzano fistballers are currently the measure of all things and remain on the winning path. The team led by captain Valentin Schwarz won both away games on Saturday and took the lead in the table for the time being.

Against the bottom of the table, Union Schwanenstadt, the people of Bolzano clearly won 3-0 in sets in less than an hour of play. This was followed by the game against table neighbors ASKÖ Laakirchen Papier. “Laakirchen is a traditional club filled with many young and hungry players who have demonstrated their playing quality several times this season,” explains coach Jörg Ramel.

“We prepared for this game with corresponding concentration. “In very difficult conditions with a lot of wind and hard grass, we adapted very well to our opponents and the conditions on the pitch right from the start,” continued Ramel. The people of Bolzano quickly led 2-0 in sets before the game broke due to several substitutions of players. While the third set went to the home team, the Bolzano team found their way back into the game better in the fourth set with a new player line-up and were able to achieve their fifth win in a row.

As a result, the Talferstädter can currently laugh from the top of the table. “Today we earned four important points in the fight for promotion thanks to a very concentrated and compact team performance. “I’m particularly pleased that we didn’t have a drop in performance despite a lot of changes,” summed up coach Ramel.

The next two game-changing games will follow next weekend against the mathematically equal teams from ASKÖ Seekrichen and Union Tigers Vöcklabruck 2.
