Bolzano's fistball players remain first-class

Due to the bonus points they took from the first phase of the season and the two clear wins against TSV Ottensheim and Union Greisinger Münzbach, the men around captain Florian Runer got their ticket to one of the best leagues in the world. “We are overjoyed with how the second half of the season went. Our primary goal was to stay in the first league. With the two clear victories, we impressively proved that we belong there too,” said Runer after the game. Like the week before, the people of Bolzano started the weekend with concentration and uncompromising under the direction of coach Jörg Ramel, the opponent had no chance at the Helmut Kohler Fistball Pitch. “The uniform team performance and the unconditional will to win was the key to success. Every player puts one hundred percent into the service of the team. As a result, we never gave up the reins even in the critical phases of the game and were ultimately able to win both decisive games,” summed up Ramel. Experienced passer and sporting director Simon Prudenziati was also visibly satisfied after the game: “We have achieved our goal for the second half of the season and secured the first division. For the first time this season we had the entire squad available. The two safe victories speak for themselves. Unfortunately, due to some illnesses and suboptimal preparation for the season, we were unable to achieve anything this year, even though we had the potential to reach the quarter-finals. This was a step in the right direction for the planned home European Championships next year in Kaltern and the World Games in the USA.” Next week in Upper Austria, the team from Bolzano will face TUS Kremsmünster in a direct duel for group victory and thus the crowning glory of this second half of the season.
