Bolzano's fistball players start the season

Just a short time ago, the Bolzano fistballers were in action at the European Championships as the “Azzurri” and took 4th place ( SportNews reported ). Now the starting whistle for the Fistball Bundesliga in Austria is given. Since being promoted four years ago, the SSV Bozen fistball players have been playing in the Austrian elite league. In addition to the Bolzano team, the seven strongest teams in Austria are on the list: Kremsmünster, Freistadt, Linz, Vöcklabruck, Enns, Grieskirchen and Froschberg.

Next weekend the first two games of the autumn round are on the program for SSV Bozen Faustball. The White-Reds face runner-up Freistadt on Saturday evening and the young team from Enns on Sunday.

In the first half of the season, everyone plays against each other in four winning sets, with one set being played up to eleven points. With a placement within the first six ranks, qualification for the championship play-off is assured. If, on the other hand, you finish seventh and eighth, you fight to stay in the league and play in the promotion play-offs.

A victory is supposed to happen Captain Florian Runer about the coming weekend: “We were able to gain important experience as a team in the summer and will use this sensibly and specifically in the autumn round. We're not hoping for a win against runner-up Freistadt because we're suffering from a lack of personnel. “We want to get a win against Enns.”

The first home round at the Bozen water wall will take place on September 14th and 15th, at the same time as the traditional autumn tournament on the Talferwiesen at the mini golf course, in which up to 15 international teams will take part.
