The ranking, which is dominated by female tennis players, is led for the fourth year in a row by US star Serena Williams (26,07 million euros), followed by the Japanese Naomi Osaka (21,69) and the German Angelique Kerber (10,53).

The US business magazine uses not only prize money for its calculations, but also income from sponsorship contracts or signing bonuses.

The first eleven places are all occupied by female tennis players, followed by US soccer player Alex Morgan (5,18) in twelfth place. The Indian badminton star PV Sindhu and golfer Ariya Jutanugarn from Thailand also made it into the top 15 (4,91 each).

Five-time world footballer Lionel Messi is already in the lead among men at the beginning of June published list with earnings of 113,36 million euros. In the combined list of men and women, Williams is the only woman in the top 100.
