The fistball players are ready for the home European Championships

In 2022 the time has finally come: the men's European Fistball Championship will take place in Kaltern. The major event, which was already planned for 2020, had to be postponed for two years due to the pandemic. The joy is now all the greater that Kaltern will host a European Fistball Championship for the first time in 2022.

Under the resounding title “Play where others go on holiday”, the best fistball players in Europe will fight for the European Championship title from June 10th to 12th. A total of nine teams from Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Belgium and Serbia have already confirmed their participation. “In addition to the top nations Germany, Austria and Switzerland, some newcomers will also be taking part in a European Championship for the first time,” says OK boss Rudi Seifert. Kaltern as an optimal partner The OK team around Rudi Seifert has done a great job in recent years to ensure that the athletes have optimal conditions in June. “A good mix of young and old, women and men, all of whom have played fistball at some point or are still playing, are there with heart and mind,” says Rudi Seifert happily.

The local fistball players want to cause a sensation.

The fistball event is organized together with the Kaltern Tourism Association, the Kaltern Sports Club and the KSV Football Section. “In Kaltern we have found the ideal partner who supports and supports all of our wishes and requirements,” says the OK boss confidently. The ideal venue was found in the sports zone in St. Anton. “We are of course very pleased to be taking part in such an event as a venue and are looking forward to the games,” explains Sighard Rainer, President of the Kaltern Tourism Association.

EURO 2022 is not the first major home event for SSV Bozen: In the summer of 2015, the fistball players organized the European Women's Championship on the Bolzano Talferwiesen, and in 2011 the IFA Cup for men and women was held in Lana with the best fistball teams in Europe . And back in 2003, the first World Championship for male U1s was held in Bolzano under the direction of SSV Bozen Faustball.
