A special sporting event in the Bruneck Intercable Arena

From Monday to Saturday, the Intercable Arena is dedicated to inline hockey. The MIHWA World Cup is held there, in which a whopping 29 teams with 400 participants compete against each other between athletes, coaches and supervisors from 14 nations in the categories Masters Over38, Veterans Over45 and Legends Over50.

The competition was presented in the premium area of ​​the arena on Friday. Alfred Valentin, President of Bruneck Aktiv Gmbh and therefore the owner of the Intercable Arena, emphasized that the World Cup, which is being held in Bruneck for the second time this year, makes a significant contribution to making the Intercable Arena known around the world beyond its function as an ice sports facility close. Valentin thanked the President of the MIHWA – Masters Inline Hockey World Association, David Ninzatti and his team for choosing Bruneck again. He also thanked the arena team for their great effort.


Mayor Roland Griessmair expressed his joy that Bruneck is hosting the World Cup for the second time: “Last year was a completely new experience for us. The enthusiasm of the athletes and the fans who came from all over the world exceeded all our expectations. With this in mind, I am pleased to be able to welcome the international family of inline hockey to our city again and wish everyone fair competitions and a great time in Brunico,” said Griessmair. The president of the tourism association, Martin Huber, emphasized the importance of the event from a tourism perspective, with 4.300 overnight stays and a revitalization of the city by international guests. It is also the tourism association that will host the official opening ceremony on Tuesday at 18:30 p.m. on the town hall square in Bruneck.

MIHWA President David Ninzatti thanked the host city of Bruneck for offering optimal conditions for this important inline hockey show. “Everyone felt at home here last year. Thank you, Brunico!” said Ninzatti. This confirms the fact that this year's edition will take place with a record number of participants and teams.
