Curling youth national champions crowned

74 young people competed in 4 age groups, with 34 athletes in the U14 age group alone. The young curling athletes had to complete a round on the 4 lanes in target and stick shooting.

Former U23 world champion Melanie Eder achieved the best result of the day with 151 points. The woman from Möltner secured the national championship title in the U23, leaving all male competitors behind.

Girls are better than boys As has often been the case, the girls performed better than the boys of the same age. Second best was Nadya Dezini from Lana with 144 points as U19 national champion. A girl, Silke Kienzl from Terlan, also won in the U14. The only boy who won a title was Jan Reiterer from Möltner as the new U16 national champion.

On January 6th, the youth Italian champions will be crowned in the target competition at the Brixen ice rink. This also includes the preliminary rounds for the U23 World Cup, the U19 and U16 European Championship qualifications in the target competition. The top eight in each age group qualify for elimination. The U23 World Cup, U19 and U16 European Championships in the team game, target competition and distance competition will be held from March 3rd to 7th, 2020 in the Bavarian rain. The ice rink in Brixen was the venue for the national curling youth championship in the individual target competition on Sunday.
