Floorball: The 5th season is just around the corner

Floorball or floorball is a sport that not many people know, but most people have already practiced it at school. In Italy there are two championships: Serie A1 and Serie A2.

In addition to Viking, Black Lions (both teams come from Rome), Varese, Spartak Milan and FC Milano Molotov, two representatives from South Tyrol also take part in the upper house. On the one hand the reigning Italian champion UHC Sterzing/Gargazon and on the other hand the five-time champion SSV Bozen. Both teams faced each other in the final last season and are once again among the best in Italy this season. However, this pairing will no longer occur in this year's final, as the two opponents will already meet in the semi-finals.

After an easy round trip, Viking Rome took first place, followed by SSV Bozen, UHC Vipiteno/Gargazon and Wild Boars Varese. These four teams are now fighting in the playoffs for the title of Italian champions.

In the first semi-final, Viking Rome meets Varese, while the two South Tyrolean representatives also meet in the round of the last 4. The game is played in best-of-two mode, meaning the team with more goals after two games advances to the grand final.

In the first leg, Mauro Picin & Co. narrowly prevailed 9:8, while the reigning Italian champions retained the upper hand in the second leg with 6:5 after extra time. The starting position couldn't be more exciting.

The winner will then face the winner of the game Viking against Varese in the grand final.
