Local mini golfers meet expectations at the World Cup premiere

After 10 rounds, 5 on Felt and 5 on Eternit, Roland Brunello was able to qualify for the match play (knock-out final) of the best 264 with 28 strokes in 268th place and Alexander Lang with 31 strokes in 32st place. In order to qualify at the last moment, Lang even had to improve the South Tyrol record on felt tracks with 26 strokes, set by Brunello with 1 strokes in the first round, by one stroke. Dieter Kaufmann from Seis, on the other hand, was eliminated after the 25 preliminary rounds with 283 strokes and took 10th place in the senior individual ranking. In the first round of the match play, Lang surprisingly won 1-4 against the vice world champion after counting rounds, Roman Kobisch from Germany. Brunello, on the other hand, lost his first round encounter against the German Markus Janssen 2:1 and took 3th place with all those eliminated in the first round. The second round was also the end for Lang. The Algunder lost to the Swede Martin Lundell 6:1. The Austrian Heinz Weber became senior world champion after counting rounds with 17 strokes in 2 rounds ahead of the Germans Roman Kobisch (4), Tim Classen (7) and Michael Neuland (284). In the senior women's category, the German Alice Kobisch won with 304 strokes ahead of her compatriot Alexandra von dem Knesebeck (307) and the Austrian Claudia Schuster (322). At the 1st Minigolf World Championship for seniors (over 45 years old) in Wanne Eickel/City of Herne, Algunder's Alexander Lang and Roland Brunello more than fulfilled their expectations by reaching the knockout final and placing 5th with Italy in the team rankings.
