Mamleev and Kirchlechner are regional orienteering champions

The Haunold Orienteering Team organization team was able to offer the participants a varied orienteering weekend. On Saturday the sprint race took place right in the center of Innichen and led through the streets and alleys of the village. The highlight from a South Tyrolean perspective was provided by Christine Kirchlechner (SC Meran), who won the women's race with her usual aplomb and relegated her teammate Heike Torggler to second place. There were further victories for Michael Wild (Haunold Orienteering Team HOT) in the M12 category, Jonas Steinwandter (HOT), M14, Marie-Christine Happacher (HOT), W14 and for Ingemar Neuhauser (SCM) in the M35 category.

On Sunday the long distance race was held on the Haunold map. The runners were brought to the start with the Haunold chairlift, and challenging courses in classic alpine terrain then took them back to Innichen, where the finish was.

Christine Kirchlechner mastered these challenges without any problems and was able to become regional champion in the long distance. Her two teammates from SC Meran Heike and Jutta Torggler completed the podium.

The South Tyrolean orienteers were also successful among the men: Mikhail Mamleev (Terlan orienteers) won the race ahead of Roberto Dallavalle (Val di Sole – Monte Giner). Mamleev's teammate Jonas Rass came third.

There was another victory for Sabine Rottensteiner (TOL) in the W35 category ahead of Verena Troi and Federica Ragona (both also TOL). Medal places were secured by Michael Wild (HOT, 3rd M12), Jonas Steinwandter (HOT, 3rd M14), Ingemar Neuhauser (SCM, 3rd M35), and Agathe Murer (Orienteering Pergine, 3rd W55).

Mamleev and Kirchlechner are regional orienteering champions

Last weekend the regional sprint and long distance orienteering championships were held in San Candido. Christine Kirchlechner (SC Meran) and Mikhail Mamleev (Terlan orienteer) were unbeatable.
