For comparison: Cristiano Ronaldo, the world's most popular athlete on the Internet, has a total of around 280 million fans, with the Real star also using the short message service Twitter.

In the ranking of local athletes, Mölgg is miles ahead of Carolina Kostner, who is particularly popular among Facebook users. Here, more than 300.000 fans follow the sporting and sometimes private activities of the Val Gardena ice princess. In third place is the diver Tania Cagnotto, who resigned a few weeks ago and has the most followers on both Instagram and Twitter. Dorothea Wierer is undoubtedly also a social media star, and she sometimes poses in a skimpy bikini for Facebook and Instagram.
