Meran Sports Festival: The Passer city in sports fever

“The Meran/o Sports Festival is a reference to Meran’s long and diverse sports history. There are more than 100 clubs which, thanks to the commitment of citizens, contribute to the development of athletes. From September 1st to 3rd, the Passerstadt will be transformed into a huge sports arena thanks to the cooperation of all clubs,” explained Mayor Paul Rösch, emphasizing in particular the close cooperation between clubs from both language groups.

The festival's motto is: Meran is moving. “There are countless reasons why men and women, young and old, should exercise regularly and - depending on their abilities and physical condition - engage in sporting activities,” said City Councilor Strohmer.

The multi-faceted program offers games and fun for young and old, but also promotes the spirit. A conference on the topic of mental training explains how limits can be overcome with willpower. The festival is also accompanied by a unique exhibition of Olympic torches and the honoring of Meran's Olympians of the past and present.
