Millions against a guilty conscience

Almost exactly to the hour after the 1972 Olympic attack in Munich, an agreement was reached with the surviving relatives of the eleven Israeli team members who were killed by the Palestinian terrorist organization “Black September”. Our columnist Sigi Heinrich is repeatedly confronted with this topic as an Olympic commentator for Eurosport.

An agreement has been reached. Finally. After half a century. After 50 years. The survivors of the Olympic attack on September 5, 1972 have now been awarded a recognition payment of 28 million euros, financed by the federal government, the Free State of Bavaria and the city of Munich.
