MMA star McGregor attacks bus with other fighters

New York (SID) Mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor caused a real scandal in New York. The 29-year-old Irishman, in a group of around 20 people, attacked a shuttle bus with MMA fighters after a press conference on Thursday and threw chairs, trash cans and other objects at it. A window was broken. A video filmed in the Barclays Center parking garage documents the incident. According to association president Dana White, fighter Michael Chiesa, who was on the bus at the time, was injured in the attack and had to be treated in hospital with cuts to his hand and face. As the New York Post reported, McGregor later turned himself in to the police. Authorities then confirmed that the Irish superstar had been charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief. Along with MMA fighter Cian Cowley, who was also charged, McGregor appeared in a Brooklyn court on Friday. "Everyone is shocked. This is the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the association," said White and also threatened: "This action was very bad for his career." It is unclear what could have triggered this incident. However, it was previously announced that McGregor would have to give up his UFC lightweight belt after not fighting for the regular title after winning it in 2016. McGregor reacted angrily to this decision on social networks. McGregor caused a stir last year with a mega fight against former boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather.
