Obereggen: Donations handed over to “Peter Pan” and “Comedicus”.

The money was collected for the children's cancer charity “Peter Pan” and for the “Comedicus” association last March 2nd at the fifth charity burger day on the Mayrl Alm. In addition to the tried and tested Mayrl burger, peppered with various side dishes, there was also this year the popular Mayrl-Wildburger. The bread for the Mayrl burger was baked for the event by the Pichler bakery in the idyllic village of Eggen. The meat came from beef from the Flecker farm in Eggen (1.200 m) and the cheese, made from high-quality milk from Grauvieh, from the Learner cheese dairy (1.360 m) in Nova Ponente. The bacon was supplied by the Gerberhof and the eggs by the Bacherhof, both historic farms in Eggen (1.200 m). A burger cost 10 euros.

The live band “The Snoops” provided the best atmosphere from 12 p.m. A total of 624 burgers were sold. The Mayrl Alm and the Obereggen mountain railways donated two euros per burger. Additional funds were donated by visitors and a total of 2.000 euros were collected. “Supporting the work of cancer aid is a personal concern for us. We can only thank everyone who came and supported “Peter Pan” and “Comedicus”,” explained the initiators and brothers Mark and Sebastian Eisath from the Mayrl Alm. President Mayr thanked them on behalf of “Peter Pan “ for the generous support and explained the most important goals of the association, which helps children suffering from cancer. “The diagnosis of cancer is a great burden not only for the affected child, but for the entire family,” emphasized Dr. Mayr. “The Peter Pan Association supports affected families so that the mothers and fathers can devote themselves fully to their children.”

The Ski Center Latemar lifts will remain open until Easter Monday “The association is also active in arranging nursing staff, psychologists and family helpers, in creating overnight accommodations for out-of-town parents while the children are in hospital and in creating adequate conditions for sick children to stay in kindergarten and school,” says Dr. Mayr. Dr. Lorenz Larcher from the “Comedicus” association also thanked the organizers and the many donors for the generous support of their volunteers, who organize weekly visits to seven hospitals in South Tyrol. “With a lot of imagination and empathy, our clown doctors manage to brighten up around 5.000 children and adults every year during their stay in the hospital and to bring joy and variety to the hospital,” emphasized Dr. Larcher from “Comedicus.” The Ski Center Latemar lifts will remain open until Easter Monday, April 22nd.
