Who goes first? The residents of the retirement homes. OK. The nursing staff there. Logical. Doctors, nurses. Of course, they must be given priority vaccination. Without vaccination, older citizens may be at risk of dying more quickly because they are easy prey for the aggressive virus. And the staff in the hospitals save lives.

So there is initially a clear consensus on this order. But then: The teaching staff, as the saying goes. So everyone who inoculates our young people with education? Also understandable. It's about our children. But what about the staff at grocery stores, where hundreds of customers walk past the checkout line every day? This professional group has been completely forgotten. She is exposed to high risk every day. But if you don't have a lobby, you won't get a needle in your upper arm. You have to scream. Loudly and clearly and, above all, massively push your own importance to the fore.

Sports associations are therefore changing their strategy more and more and are demanding throughout Europe that professional athletes or those who identify as such should be given priority for vaccination. So that they can continue to pursue their profession or vocation. With a complete vaccination, they could complete their entire training program without restrictions and there would possibly be more equal opportunities again. Because athletes are already competing against each other in competitions, some of whom are vaccinated and others who are not. The business drives the action But that's just one aspect. Basically it's about business. Big business, mind you. There are increasing signs that the Olympic Games in Tokyo in July and August will take place but without spectators and only with athletes who have been vaccinated. This leads to the self-image of many sports organizations that their members, if they represent the respective country at major championships, must of course be given priority vaccination. Even before the bus drivers, the members of the volunteer fire departments and even the saleswomen, because the majority of people who work in the grocery stores are women. The general public is suggested that sport has a meaning that it does not have.

Sport may fulfill a social role, but this also applies to other areas that have long been forgotten. In Germany, for example, you can buy a fast hybrid sled (the car dealerships are open), but you're not allowed to go to a museum to look at a few pictures. This can also be offered virtually, it is said unctuously by those who change the Corona regulations every day. And until no one knows what is currently happening, what incidence value, etc. As if you couldn't look at a car on the internet. Art loses to sport Lobbying is effective. Art doesn't seem to be important enough, but sport does, because only through its practice by top talent in all disciplines can television contracts be fulfilled. So the ruble rolls, even if there can be no spectators in the halls or stadiums. A vaccination certificate is intended to ensure that nothing changes and that the continued existence of the Olympic Games money printing machine, for example, is not jeopardized, even if this is only discussed in private because the topic is too sensitive. The fact that this comes at the expense of other citizens who may have a greater need to be vaccinated only creates a bad conscience in the very short term. The elbows are extended. Sport now also seems to be falling for the motto: everyone is their own neighbor. This is not only unfair, but also deeply sad. But it is a reflection of the Corona period, which is driving a nasty wedge into our society.
