Rugby star Folau is suing the association and club

Folau announced this in a video statement on Thursday. At the same time, the 30-year-old is demanding an apology, financial compensation and reinstatement.

The strictly religious Folau posted a picture on Instagram in April threatening, among other things, homosexuals, alcoholics, thieves and atheists: “Hell awaits you. Repent! Only Jesus can save you.” After the association then terminated his contract, which was valid until 2022, Folau showed no remorse and let the deadline for an objection pass. His career is about to end.

In June, a four-hour mediation session between Folau and Rugby Australia remained inconclusive. It was also about financial compensation for lost sponsorship and marketing income totaling a rumored six million euros.
