Thomas Bach new IOC President
At the 125th IOC General Assembly in Buenos Aires, Thomas Bach was elected as the new President of the International Olympic Committee. In addition to the 59-year-old fencing team Olympic champion from Montreal 1976 in foil from Germany, Sergey Bubka, Richard Carrion, Ser Miang Ng, Denis Oswald and Ching Kuo Wu also took part in the election. Bach has been a member of the IOC since 1991 and has held the office of vice president since 2000.
