World Cup Granada: Simon Weithaler 65th in the 10m air rifle shooting
The 2014 World Shooting Championships in Granada, Spain, opened on Monday with the men's 10m air rifle shooting. A total of 2000 participants from 94 nations are taking part. In the first World Cup competition, the Wahleppaner and Olympic champion Niccolò Campriani was unable to defend his title from 2010 in Munich and had to settle for 18th place (624.4 points). Simon Weithaler, however, came 65th at his first Senior World Championships with 618.8 points. The title went to China's Haoran Yang.
