Aurer sports shooters win in L'Aquila

At the final of the Italian Championships in L'Aquila on Saturday, the Unterlanders were able to shine in the single mixed relay, which was included in the program for the first time this year, and brought the title to Auer. Newcomer Sophia Göller and “old master” Georg Unterpertinger were an unbeatable combination and relegated the teams from Ravenna and Lucca to their places. The individual competitions were on the program on Sunday. Julian Acler narrowly missed the podium in the student category, but achieved an excellent fourth place in his first Italian championship. Daniel Gruber was once again able to demonstrate his talent with the students. In an exciting competition with a few changes of position, especially at the shooting range, he reached the finish in second place. Michele Sciarillo, who competed for the Kaltern section, secured third place in this category. Sophia Göller set the standards for the female pupils. After a first balanced run, she was able to pull away from her opponents at the first shooting range and secured the Italian championship title after a confidently controlled race. The men's top favorite Georg Unterpertinger and his teammate Claudio Vendemiati were at the start. In heavy rain, Unterpertinger broke away from his opponents at the first shooting range and despite a fall in the second round of running, he was able to defend his title from last year. Vendemiati fought for the bronze medal for a long time, but ultimately narrowly missed it and finished the competition in fourth place.
