ATP 's-Hertogenbosch: Seppi with difficulty, but continues

The 33-year-old from Kalter prevailed in a hard-fought match against the Japanese qualifier Tatsuma Ito (ATP 174) after 1.48 hours of play in the third set with 6:3, 3:6, 6:3.

For Seppi, currently number 76 in the world, the match did not start as desired. In the first game he lost his serve to the Japanese, who increased to 2-0 shortly afterwards. But the Kalterer player didn't give up, won five games in a row from 1:3 onwards and converted his first set point to make it 6:3 after just under half an hour.

The second half of the game was quite even at the beginning. Both players completed their service until the score was 3:4. Suddenly Ito found himself with two break chances. Seppi was able to fend off the first one, but the Japanese used the second one to take a 5-3 lead. Then Seppi had a great chance for the rebreak, but Ito fended off the break point and somewhat surprisingly secured the second set 6:3.

So the match went into the third, decisive set. In the third game, Seppi Ito took serve for the first time and shortly afterwards made it 4:1. So the game was decided. A little later, the Kalterer player used his first match point to make the final score 6:3.
