Five players from Italy in the quarter-finals of the Sparkasse ATP Challenger Val Gardena South Tyrol, something that has never happened before. As the fifth and last of the “Azzurri”, young hopeful Stefano Napolitano made it to the last eight at the 64.000 euro tournament in Ortisei on Thursday afternoon. He defeated Frenchman Albano Olivetti 7:6 (4) 6:3. On Friday, in the third game after 12 p.m., he will face fourth-seeded Mirza Basic from Bosnia-Herzegovina, who eliminated qualifier Yannick Jankovits 2:6, 6:1, 6:3.
