Bortolameolli wins TC Bauzanum youth tournament

In four of the six categories, the favorites lived up to their role. Jonas Masten from Merano caused a surprise for the U12 boys. The 11-year-old defeated the number 2 seed, Calogero di Dio, in the semifinals and then prevailed in the final against the top favorite Manuel Pavia from ASV Lana in three sets with 2:6, 6:3, 6:4. For the girls of the same age, the title went to Anna Katharina Palla from Kaltern, who prevailed in the final against number 3 on the seed list, Lucia Panin, 6:3, 7:5.

In the U14 girls age category, however, Palla had to admit defeat to her teammate Martina Broggi 6:2, 6:7, 0:6. For the boys, Christian Romagnoli from the Bolzano club CT Ussa secured the final against Tommaso Saia.

The boys’ U16 title went to Michael Bortolameolli. The TC Bozen player shot down number 4 seed Daniel Tavernini 6:1, 6:2 in the final. Tavernini eliminated top favorite Christian Romagnoli (3.5) in the semifinals.

In the youngest group (U10), Daniel Lechner, number 1 on the seed list, defeated Christian Bacher in two sets 6:2, 6:2.

Bortolameolli wins TC Bauzanum youth tournament

More than 60 players from the U10, 12, 14 and 16 age groups took part in the fourth of a total of 19 seasonal tournaments of the “Raiffeisen Youth Tennis Grand Prix 2017” on the TC Bauzanum tennis courts.
