Brzezinski and Gerbino win the Open tournament in Ratschings

In the men's open tournament, top favorite Sebastian Brzezinski from Bolzano and number 3 seed Horst Rieder from Völs reached the final. Brzezinski from TC Rungg easily beat Alessandro Gattini from Lombardy 6:0, 6:0 in the quarter-finals, while his teammate Rieder also clearly put Christian Fellin from Brixen in his place with 6:2, 6:2. In the semifinals, Brzezinski and Rieder benefited from the rejection of Lukas Holzner and Michael Kerschbaumer respectively. In the Rungger final, the man from Bolzano lived up to his role as favorite and secured the tournament victory in Ratschings with a 6:3, 6:2 win.

Gerbino wins in the women's category In the women's category, however, the 3.1 player Chiara Gerbino from the Sicilian club Mascalucia surprisingly prevailed. After qualifying, the southern Italian eliminated Franziska Daum from Lana in three sets in the quarter-finals, and in the semi-finals she shot down top seed Elisa Crazzolara from Tennis Brixen 6:3, 6:0.
