However, given the weather forecast, the organizers were later forced to cancel the entire match day, which was last the case on the second Monday of the tournament in 2016. No covered court at the French Open On Tuesday, the games were interrupted early in the evening due to a thunderstorm warning, but were able to be continued and completed after about an hour. The French Open is the only one of the four Grand Slam tournaments that currently does not have a stadium with a roof. In Wimbledon, in addition to the Center Court, a second court is now covered, and the Australian Open in Melbourne even has three stadiums in which play can be played in shelter in the event of rain or extreme heat. The US Open in New York also has two arenas with a roof structure.

As part of the renovation and modernization measures at the facility in Roland Garros, the Center Court should be covered by 2021 at the latest.
