The ladies from St. Georgen get one point, Bolzano wins

In the first three rounds, St. Georgen scored four points in the women's A2 series. After the 1:3 defeat at Cesano Maderno, the disappointing 2:2 draw at home against Stampa Sporting Turin and the 3:1 away win in Milan against Ambrosiano, the Puster women took another important step towards staying in the league on Whit Sunday and equalized Rome against Ferratella 2.2. Captain Gabriella Polito once again took both points. First she clearly won her singles against Arianna Capogrosso (2.4) 6:1, 6:0, then in the doubles with Verena Hofer she defeated the duo Lisa Sabino/Arianna Capogrosso 6:3, 6:1. Hofer, who had to compete with a bad cold, lost in the singles against the 2.1 player Lisa Sabino 2:6, 2:6. Vera Ploner also went down 2.7:3, 1:3 against Emily Stellato (6), despite a 0:6 lead. With this draw, St. Georgen remains in fifth place in the table. In order to keep it, the Puster women have to win at least one match in the last two home games against the still unbeaten league leaders Canottieri Casale and Park Tennis Club Genoa.

Serie B: TC Bozen wins for the first time After two draws and one defeat, TC Bozen won the men's Serie B for the first time on Sunday. The Talferstädter team won 4-2 in Mosciano Sant'Angelo. After the singles, Bozen was already leading 3-1, Andrea Capodminote showed a particularly strong performance, defeating the 2.4 player Gaston Giussani in three sets. The fourth, decisive point was finally won by the Philipp Köll/Stehan Knapp doubles. Next Sunday, the second win is mandatory in the home game against Country Time Club Palermo, which still has no points.
