Djokovic leads Serbia to victory at the ATP Cup

The 32-year-old Djokovic took both points in his team's 2-1 win against Spain in the final on Sunday. Djokovic triumphed both in the singles against world number one Rafael Nadal and in the final doubles alongside Viktor Troicki.

Djokovic initially equalized with his 6:2, 7:6 (7:4) win in the 55th duel with long-term rival Nadal. Roberto Bautista Agut had previously given Spain the lead with a 7:5, 6:1 win against Dusan Lajovic. In the decisive doubles, Djokovic/Troicki prevailed 6:3, 6:4 against Feliciano Lopez and Pablo Carreno Busta.

Players donate Djokovic then personally announced, to the cheers of the spectators in Sydney, that the players on the ATP Tour were financially helping the Australians hit by bushfires: $725.000 was going to the environmental protection organization WWF Australia and the Nature Recovery Fund.

The ATP Cup, a national competition in the style of the reformed Davis Cup, celebrated its premiere this year. In Brisbane, Perth and Sydney there was prize money of 15 million US dollars and also points for the world rankings.
