In the middle of the game: Jannik Sinner as a “first responder” in an emergency

Jannik Sinner is not only making a name for himself in sports at the Masters 1000 tournament in Miami. With a noble gesture he has once again won many hearts.

It's the simple gestures that often have a big impact. This becomes clear with superstar Jannik Sinner. Just ten days ago, the down-to-earth Sesto native won a lot of sympathy, as he holds the ball girl's umbrella during a break in the rain and also had a casual conversation with her. Now Sinner is going viral again - but this time not in the role of the gentleman, but of the first aider.

On Tuesday evening (local time), Sinner was playing the second set against the Australian Christopher O'Connell under the blazing sun in Miami when a lady in the stands suddenly lost consciousness. Apparently the heat and humidity were bothering her. Sinner reacted quickly, got water and handed towels to the audience area. He then looked for ice packs and let them go up.

The affected lady recovered relatively quickly – supported by paramedics. Jannik Sinner, on the other hand, received big applause from the fans. Once again, the superstar has shown that he is a very down-to-earth boy. After a ten-minute interruption, the match finally resumed Sinner won in two sets.

The Sesto native will be back in action on Wednesday evening (CET). Then he meets the Czech Tomas Machac, who is in position 60 in the ATP rankings. The quarterfinals are scheduled for 20 p.m. our time.
