Stürz, Larcher, Pircher and Götsch repeat last year's victory Christian Larcher (3.1/Over 40), Karl Pircher (4.2/Over 60) and Leo Götsch (4.2/Over 65) also repeated their victory from last year. Kössler had previously eliminated number two seed Peter Rainer in the tiebreak of the third set. Marco Piliego won the Over 45 (up to 4.3) (6:1, 6:2 in the final against Andreas Gerstgrasser from Partschins) and Roland Bodner from Vahrn (50) won the Over 3.5. In the final he defeated Giovanni Melega from Bolzano, who had previously thrown Werner Kostner out of the competition. In the over 55 age group, Paulsner veteran Peter Plunger (3.5) is the new national champion. In the final he beat Gaiser Franz Mair from TC Bruneck 7:5, 6:2.

The senior tennis state championships also took place this year on the clay courts of the TC Bauzanum on Schlachthofstrasse in Bozen. There were no surprises and the favorites prevailed in all categories. 59 men and only 9 women took part.
