French Open: Karin Knapp meets Mona Barthel on Monday at 11 a.m

A difficult but manageable task, as Knapp is in 49th place in the WTA world rankings this week. However, the 23-year-old German won both direct duels against the Luttacher. In 2008 she won 6:1, 3:6, 6:4 in Stuttgart and three years later she won 6:3 and 6:3 in Barnstaple in Great Britain.

It is also curious that Karin Knapp will play her opening match in doubles against Barthel. The South Tyrolean will meet the Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu against the German and the French Virginie Razzano.

Karin Knapp has only played in the main draw of the individual competition in Paris three times in her career. She reached the third round twice (in 2007 she was eliminated by the Swiss Patty Schnyder, a year later by Maria Sharapova), but last year she was eliminated right at the start of the tournament against the American Sloane Stephens. In 2012, Knapp lost in the first round of qualifying to Coco Vandeweghe in three sets 6:4, 2:6 and 4:6.

Andreas Seppi only played against Giraldo on Tuesday

The second South Tyrolean in the Paris peloton, Andreas Seppi from Kaltern, will only make his debut on Tuesday. The 30-year-old is seeded number 32 and will face the Colombian Santiago Girald (ATP 34) at the start. In doubles, Seppi plays with compatriot Filippo Volandri against the French Jonathan Eysseric and Marc Gicquel.
