Five South Tyroleans at the ITF tournament in Wolkenstein

Val Gardena is hosting an ITF men's tournament for the third time after 2018 and 2019. The first two editions were played on the clay courts in St. Christina, this year for the first time in the hall in Wolkenstein. Two local players are already in the main field: local hero Erwin Tröbinger and Patric Prinoth from St. Christina, who received a wild card from the organizers. Another three South Tyroleans will start qualifying tomorrow. In the third match after 9.30 a.m. Nicolò Toffanin from Leifers plays against the German Dominique Graf (ITF 1523). Immediately afterwards, number 15, Christian Fellin from Brixen, meets Serbian Luca Teboul. Bad luck for Moroder Fellin was in the final of the ITF junior tournament in Seefeld (Grade 5) just last week, and getting into the main draw is the goal for the 17-year-old South Tyrolean. At the same time, the third South Tyrolean qualifier, Gabriel Moroder, plays in first place. The tennis player from Ortisei was extremely unlucky in the draw and will face number 1 seeded Italian Alessandro Pecci (ATP 3). If Moroder wins, he could fight Fellin for a ticket to the main draw. The number 1253 in the qualification is the Swiss Yannik Steinegger, who is currently ranked 1th in the ATP computer. In order to get into the main draw, which will be drawn on Sunday by supervisor Pier Luigi Grana and tournament director Wolfgang Wanker, the players have to survive two rounds. Seppi in Germany Andreas Seppi, on the other hand, will be taking part in the Challenger tournament in Ismaning next week, which is worth 44.820 euros. The 37-year-old from Kalter, number 98 in the world rankings, is ranked number 3 in Germany and will face local hero Tobias Kamke (ATP 1) in round 242. The 35-year-old from Lübeck was already number 2011 in the world in 64. Seppi and Kamke are facing each other for the fourth time, the South Tyrolean leads the direct duels with 2-1 wins.
