Future tournament in Bolzano: The countdown is on

In addition to Luciano Giovanelli, from the host TC Bozen, South Tyrol's association president Richard Weißensteiner, Bolzano's deputy mayor Klaus Ladinser and Mauro Marchi from the main sponsor Bank für Trento and Bozen were present at the official press conference.

The organizers of TC Bozen have managed to give new impetus to the great tennis tradition in the state capital and to attract international players to the Talfer again with the annual $15.000 tournament. “The tournament has established itself in the tennis world within a short time. I hope that the organizers will be able to continue on the path they have chosen,” said Weißensteiner.

The schedule The official start will take place on Friday evening, when tournament director Andrea Capodimonte will draw the match pairings. On Saturday morning the felt ball flies for the first time in the qualification. The main field matches start on Monday, August 5th. The next highlights are the “Players Party” on Wednesday and the grand finale on Saturday.

At the moment, the Spaniard Jordi Samper-Montana, number 243 in the world at the registration deadline, appears to be at the top of the seeding list. However, the wildcard players could still overtake him. One tournament invitation is reserved for Simone Vagnozzi (ATP 215), while Gianluca Naso (ATP 294) and Thomas Fabbiano (ATP 183) are fighting for the second one. If the Italian Tennis Association grants the organizers another wildcard, it would go to Thomas Holzer from Kalter.

Patrick Prader, on the other hand, will start in the qualification, as will Patrick Prinoth and national champion Joy Vigani, who will receive a qualifying wildcard.
