Futures Bozen: Prinoth and Rieder fail in the qualification

Moritz Trocker, Jacob Nicolussi, Erwin Tröbinger, Philipp Köll, Michael Kerschbaumer and Manuel Bernard had already failed in the first qualifying round on Saturday. Today Patric Prinoth and Horst Rieder were also hit. The 20-year-old from St. Christina, who held his own against Federico Marchetti at the start of the tournament, clearly lost to number 3 on the seed list, Daniele Capecchi (ATP 1240), 1:6, 4:6. Prinoth had no chance in the first set, was then 1:3 behind in the second period, but was able to equalize to 4:4 and then even had two balls on his own serve to take the lead 5:4. Horst Rieder's game against number 7 in the qualification, Alessandro Cepellini (ATP 1644), was exciting. The 20-year-old from Völs, who plays for TC Rungg and eliminated Marco Di Maro from Vicenza in the first round, immediately took a 2-0 lead. Then Cepellini was able to equalize to 3:3. The game remained very even until 5:5, but Cepellini took serve from the South Tyrolean in the eleventh game and took the set with 7:5 points. The second period of the game was similar: Rieder led 2-0, Cepellini equalized to 2-2, made the break in the 5th game and used his first match point after 1:53 hours of play to win 6-3.

Weis and Fellin in the peloton The main field begins on Monday in Bolzano. In the fourth match after 13 p.m., Alexander Weis is currently facing Alessandro Cepellini, who is also his doubles partner in Bolzano. Manfred Fellin from Brixen had no luck in the draw, and on Tuesday he had to play against number 3 seeded Swede Christian Lindell (ATP 370), who was in the semi-finals in Bozen last year. Lindell will play the doubles with Horst Rieder against the Italians Ferrari/Ghedin tomorrow. Patrick Prader is also registered in doubles with Philipp Köll.
