Gasser and Costaperaria win titles in Gargazon

For nine days, players from all over South Tyrol played at the Gargazon anniversary tournament. Local hero Harald Gasser, who plays for TC Rungg, prevailed among the men. The 4.2 player eliminated number 2 seed Joachim Laimer in the quarterfinals and also brought Manuel Buratti from SSV Leifers to his knees in the semifinals 6:4, 6:4. In the final, Gasser faced his village colleague Patrik Aichhorner from ASV Gargazon. Both had to start in qualifying and didn't drop a set in the entire tournament. In the final, Gasser ultimately had the upper hand and won in two sets 6:3, 6:3.

In the women's category, Anna Costaperaria (4.1) lived up to her role as favorite. The player from the Bolzano club CT Ussa defeated Sarah Kofler from Vinschger in two sets 6:4, 6:3 in the final. In the semifinals, Kofler surprisingly beat the number 2 seed, Martina Göller from TC Mals, 5:7, 6:3, 6:2, while Costaperaria defeated Simona Sedlak 7:5, 6:3.

Last weekend, the 5th edition of the “Raiffeisen Grand Prix” tennis tournament in the 4th category in Gargazon came to an end with the victories of local hero Harald Gasser and Anna Costaperaria from CT USSA. 106 participants took part.
