Gitzl and Piccoliori win in Haslach

Daniel Gitzl from Eisacktal celebrated his second win in a row after winning in Branzoll the weekend before. He also won the 2rd category tournament in Mezzolombardo on Sunday morning. In the evening he won the next title in Haslach.

Gitzl, number 1 on the seed list, dominated the tournament. In the quarter-finals he knocked out Bolzano's Alex Eccel Trappolin 6-1, 6-1, then in the semi-finals he easily defeated host Igor Petermair 6-0, 6-0. In the final he gave Gabriel Moroder from Val Gardena no chance, sending him home 6-4, 6-0. “I'm in good shape at the moment and hope to be able to continue my winning streak at the weekend in Montan,” says the young man from Brixen happily.

Among the women, Alessia Piccoliori was also the top favorite. The 18-year-old from Val Gardena, who won the tournament in Haslach two seasons ago, easily defeated Martina Broggi from ASV Partschins 2:6, 3:6 in the final. Previously, Piccoliori had won against Judith Rainalter from Mals in three sets, while Broggi also had the upper hand against Anna Costaperaria in three sets with 1:3, 3:6, 3:1.

Gitzl and Piccoliori win in Haslach

The 20-year-old Daniel Gitzl from Brixen and Alessia Piccoliori from Val Gardena won the 3rd category tournament on Sunday evening on the sand courts of ASV Haslach.
