Hilpold and Rainalter win the Raiffeisen Grand Prix in Terlan

For the men, there were high-class duels from the quarter-finals onwards. Co-favorite Dietmar Gurschler from Naturns eliminated Hansi Pircher in two sets, youngster Tyler Diehl shone against surprise man Stefan Thaler, Rainer Hilpold knocked local hero Christian Pircher out of the competition in three sets 6:1, 4:6, 6:4 and Christoph Mayr eliminated Veteran Luciano Boscolo out.

In the semi-finals, the 14-year-old Diehl from TC Rungg beat Gurschler 7:5 and 6:4, while Hilpold and Mayr fought a memorable match, which the Gargazonian, after fending off the match point, won 9:7 in the tiebreak of the match won the third set.
