Hornof and Wiesflecker win in Ratschings

In the third men's category, number 3 seed Alexander Hornof from Brixen and defending champion Hannes Köb from TC Ratschings reached the final. Hornof beat Antonio Dalle Nogare from TC Rungg 6:0, 7:5 in the quarterfinals and against 3.5 player Armin Graus 6:4, 6:3 in the semifinals. Köb, on the other hand, clearly eliminated Marco Baccani 6:1, 6:0 in the quarter-finals, before benefiting from his teammate Noel Rainer's surrender in the semi-finals when the score was 6:2, 4:5. In the final, however, Köb had to admit defeat to Hornof in three hard-fought sets 6:3, 2:6, 4:6.

Wiesfleckler wins in the women's category In the women's category, the 4.1 player Tanja Wiesflecker surprisingly won. In the final she defeated number 1 seed Waltraud Kirchler from ATC Bruneck in two tiebreaks 7:6(4), 7:6(5). The 34-year-old from Vahrn was able to eliminate Sara Luna Malanca 6:3, 3:6, 6:1, while Kirchler knocked Christina Strickner (4.5) out of the competition with 6:2, 6:2.

Thomas Rainer wins tournament in the 4th category

There was a little surprise in the men's 4th category tournament. Local hero Thomas Rainer first gave number 1 seed Thomas Schraffl no chance in the semifinals with 2:6, 6:1, 6:0 and then clearly defeated number 2 on the seed list, Stefan Constantini from Tennis Brixen, in two sets in the final with 6:0, 6:3.
