Berger and Zamboni triumph in Niederdorf

Tamara Berger prevailed at the Raiffeisen tournament in Niederdorf at the weekend. The 15-year-old from Gais defeated Matilda Gelao from Piedmont in two sets 6:3, 7:5 in the final. Berger previously eliminated Allegra Mondo (3.2) 6:4, 6:2 in the semifinals, while Gelao celebrated a three-set win against Valentina Campagnolo, also from Piedmont.

Egon Taschler only loses in the final

In the men's race, the victory went to number 3 on the seed list, Giovanni Zamboni (3.1). The Milanese didn't drop a set in the entire tournament and had no problems in the final against Egon Taschler from Pusteria (3.3) and clearly won in two sets 6:3, 6:2. In the quarterfinals, Taschler surprisingly knocked top favorite Lukas Crepaz (3.1) out of the competition 6:3, 6:0. He then brought the Lombard Paolo Calore to his knees 6:4, 6:3. Taschler had already won the tournament in Niederdorf in 2004, while Zamboni was able to enter the winners' list for the second time since 2014.

Harrasser wins tournament in the 4th category There was a big surprise in the men's 4th category tournament. Benjamin Harrasser from ASV St. Lorenzen, who started from the qualification, gave local hero Andreas Troger no chance in the semi-finals with 6:4, 6:4 and then defeated Christoph Gasser from SSV Pfalzen in two sets in the final, clearly 6:1. 6:4.
