Italian Championship: 4th place for Rungger U12 girls

At the end of August, the three clubs qualified for the final round of the best eight teams in Italy at the tournaments in the North/East zone. The U12 of TC Rungg surprisingly defeated the number 3 seeded team of TC Finale Ligure 3-0 in the first round in Avezzano in Abruzzo. Anna Santa from Eppan and Sara Rizzolli from Montana clearly won their singles. Rizzoli and Lara Pfeifer from Deutschnofen then benefited from their opponents' abandonment in doubles. The next day in the semi-finals, however, the wrestlers had to admit defeat to the Tennis Club Cesano Maderno 0:3. Roland Meliss' girls also lost the game for third place against Palermo 1:2 on the final day. Giorgia Pedone and Virginia Ferrara, the two finalists of this year's U11 Italian Championship, played for the Sicilians. In the end the excellent 4th place remained.

5th place for the U14 of TC St. Christina-Wolkenstein The sisters Laura and Ellen Mair and Giorgia Piccoliori from TC St. Christina -Wolkenstein, however, took 14th place in the U5 finals in Cuneo. The Val Gardena women lost in the first round against the top seeded Roman women from TC Parioli, who then also became Italian champions. In the placement games, Stefano Bassetto's girls won first against CT Giotto Arezzo and then against SC Martina Franca with 2.1 and finished the final round in 5th place. The decisive points for St. Christina-Wolkenstein were scored by 12-year-old Laura Mair, who won both her singles and the doubles with her sister Ellen. The U16 girls of TC Meran played their final in La Spezia. Marion Quarter and Teresa Schwinebacher had no chance in the first two games against Park Tennis Genoa and Stampa Sporting Turin, but then took 7th place with a 3-0 win against Nuova F48 Rome.
