ITF Bozen: Rieder and Lindell miss the doubles final

For Rieder it was the first ITF doubles semi-final in only his second appearance on the tour. Yesterday, the 20-year-old from Völs secured his first ATP doubles world ranking point by making it into the top four. Rieder/Lindell missed the start of the match on Thursday and were already 0:6, 0 after half an hour :2 back. But then they suddenly got into the game better and equalized to 2-2. However, when the score was 4:4, Riccardo Balzerani/Corrado Summaria took the serve from them, moved away to 5:4 and used their first match point after 56 minutes of play to make the final score 6:4. In the all-Italian final tomorrow at 18 p.m. Balzerani/Summaria will meet Federico Maccari/Giovanni Oradini.

In the individual semi-finals Lindell against Bachinger and Clarke against Basso With his double victory, Balzerani also took revenge on Lindell for the defeat he suffered in the individual quarter-finals against the former Swedish Davis Cup player earlier in the afternoon. Lindell won in straight sets 6:3, 7:6(6). In the semi-finals on Friday at 16.30 p.m. he will face Weis conqueror Matthias Bachinger from Munich, who defeated the Italian Antonio Massara 6-0, 6-2 in just one hour on Thursday.

Before that, at 15 p.m., the top seeded Brit Jay Clarke and the Italian Andreas Basso will face each other in the first semi-final. Clark defeated the German Robin Kern 7:6(5) and 6:2 in a high-class match on Thursday, while Basso defeated the Brazilian Bruno Sant'Anna, number 5 on the seed list, 3:6, 7:6(4), knocked out of the tournament 6:2.
