ITF Grado: Verena Meliss misses the main draw

Verena Meliss failed in the final qualifying round of the $25.000 tournament in Grado on Sunday. The 18-year-old from Kaltern was clearly defeated by Latvian Diana Marcinkevica, number 16 on the seeding list and 434th in the world, 1:07, 1:6 after 2:6 hours of play. This meant that Meliss missed the jump into the main field.
