ITF Cairo: Alexander Weis fails in the opening match

Just last week, the 20-year-old from Bolzano - also in Cairo - made it into an ITF quarter-final for the first time, but on Tuesday there was already nothing to gain in round 1 against the Ukrainian Oleksandr Bielinskyi (ATP 916). Weis lost the first set 4:6, but then won the second set comfortably 6:3. In the third, decisive period of the game, Bielinskyi dominated the game again and won 2:21 after 6:2 hours of total playing time.

Alexander Weis was subsequently eliminated from the doubles, where he played together with Brixen Manfred Fellin lost in the starting round against the number 4 seeded duo Pavel Krainik/Daniil Zarichanskyy (CAN/UKR) in two sets 6:7(8), 3:6.

Auch Moritz Trocker failed in doubles on Tuesday. The 17-year-old from Völs had to narrowly admit defeat to the Canadian Washi Gervais by the Ukrainian-Russian pairing Oleksandr Bielinskyi/Ronald Slobodchikov in the super tiebreak with 4:6, 7:5, 3:10.

In the singles, Trocker was unlucky because he will face the number 2 in the tournament and number 390 in the world, the Spaniard Mario Vilella Martinez, in the first round on Wednesday. Manfred Fellin On Wednesday, however, in the second match after 9.30 a.m., she will face the Egyptian Sherif Sabry, number 915 in the world, while the 20-year-old from Kalter Verena Melissa in the women's race against the Swedish qualifier Julita Saner.
