ITF: Manfred Fellin in the main draw in Trieste

Already on Saturday, Fellin had the upper hand in the first round against his compatriot Nicolo Crespi 6:2, 6:1, while Bernard, who was able to qualify thanks to a wild card, defeated the Italian Michele Longo, number 11 on the seeding list defeated in two sets 6:4, 7:5.

Fellin took control of the match from the start. The man from Brixen promptly moved ahead to 4-1 with two breaks before shortly afterwards converting his first set point to make it 6-1. Fellin also dominated the second half of the game. Again he took service from Bernard three times and won 1-18 after 6:2 hours of play. Who Fellin will face in the first round of the main draw still has to be drawn.

Rieder in Antalya before entering the main field

Horst Rieder, on the other hand, is only missing one win to move into the main draw of the $15.000 tournament in Antalya. The 20-year-old from Völs is seeded number 10 in the qualification in Turkey. After a bye in the first round, he defeated the Swiss Bastien Kolly 6:3, 6:4 on Sunday. On Monday at 13 p.m. CEST he will face Mexican Mauricio Resendiz, number 1305 in the world, in the final qualifying round.

Tröbinger, Ciechi, Prinoth and Hofer in Hammamet Three other South Tyroleans, Erwin Tröbinger, Jonas Ciechi and Patric Prinoth from Val Gardena, were in action in the qualification for the $15.000 tournament in Hammamet. Tröbinger and Ciechi made it to the second, decisive qualifying round. The 21-year-old from Tröbinger defeated the Greek Athanasios Bilis in three sets 6:1, 2:6, 6:1 and will fight for a ticket to the main draw against the Italian Stefano Platania tomorrow, Monday. The 19-year-old Ciechi won his first ITF match outside South Tyrol this Sunday against Irishman Preston Connor 6:4, 3:6, 6:1. On Monday he will face his compatriot Federico Bertuccioli. Patric Prinoth, however, is eliminated. The South Tyrolean had to retire due to injury against the Algerian Aymen Ikhlef when the score was 3:4.

Verena Hofer from Val Gardena, who celebrated her 20th birthday on Saturday, is already in the peloton in Hammamet. Her opponent will be drawn tomorrow, Monday.

ITF: Manfred Fellin in the main draw in Trieste

Manfred Fellin has made it into the main draw of the $25.000 ITF tournament in Trieste. The 20-year-old from Brixen clearly prevailed on Sunday afternoon in the second, decisive qualifying round in the purely South Tyrolean derby against Manuel Bernard from Bolzano with 6:1, 6:2.
