Verena Hofer was eliminated in the second round of the $10.000 Rovereto tournament on Thursday. The U16 Italian champion from Ortisei had to admit defeat to number 3 seed Lisa Sabino in the tiebreak of the third, decisive set 2:6, 6:1, 6:7(4). The 28-year-old Swiss is currently number 516 in the WTA world rankings.
