ITF: Sinner and Winkler are in the final

The 17-year-old Jannik Sinner from Sesto, who is seeded number 1 in Santa Margherita di Pula, eliminated the Italian Fabrizio Ornago, seeded number 5, in the semi-finals on Saturday. In the first set, Sinner managed the decisive break when the score was 4:4, and immediately afterwards he won 6:4. In the second half of the game, the Pusterer was already 3:5 behind, but then won four games in a row and closed the bag with 7:5 after exactly two hours of play.

This means Sinner is in a final for the third time in a row, after winning the Challenger tournament in Bergamo and the ITF tournament in Trento at the end of February and beginning of March. It is the 15th win in a row for the Pusterer. In the final on Sunday, Sinner will face the tournament's number 2, Andrea Pellegrino (ATP 345).

Alexander Weis, however, was eliminated in the doubles semi-finals. The 21-year-old from Bolzano and the “Azzurro” Luigi Sorrentino had to admit defeat in two sets 5:7, 0:6 in the all-Italian Marco Bortolotti/Nicolo Turchetti derby in the semi-finals.

Winkler in the doubles final in Antalya Georg Winkler, on the other hand, is in the doubles final at the $15.000 tournament in Antalya. On Saturday, the Völser and his compatriot Luca Tomasetto confidently eliminated the Russians Shalva Dzhanashiya/Denis Klok 6:4, 6:2 in the semifinals. In the final on Sunday, the “Azzurri” will face the number 3 seeded Brazilians Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves/Christian Oliveira. For Winkler it is the first ITF doubles final in his career.

ITF: Sinner and Winkler are in the final

Jannik Sinner qualified for the singles final of the $25.000 ITF tournament in Santa Margherita di Pula on Saturday, just like Georg Winkler, who is in the doubles final in Antalya. Alexander Weis, however, was eliminated in the doubles semi-finals in Sardinia.
